Edith Gary Wall of Raymond, Mississippi, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 26, 2015, in Arlington,Texas, from her earthly life of 86 years to her eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, January 2, 2016, at the Raymond United Methodist Church, Raymond, Mississippi, with the Rev. Mike Sahler officiating. Visitation will be at the church beginning at10:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the Raymond Cemetery under the direction of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wall was born June 6, 1929, in Newton County, the daughter of Rufus and Sadie Gary. She was a graduate of Newton High School and Clarke College. She was employed by the Newton County Bank for several years before marrying Wallace Wall and moving to Raymond, Mississippi, in 1956. While in Raymond, Mrs. Wall was a stay-at-home mom, a volunteer in the Raymond community/schools and later was employed by the US Post office in Raymond for twenty years.
As a longtime member of the Raymond Methodist Church, Mrs. Wall served in many capacities from teaching children's Sunday school to the Pastor Parish committee. Her longest service and perhaps the one that brought her most joy was singing in the adult choir for more than 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wallace Wall, and son-in-law, Dale Owens.
Survivors include her son, Kendall Wall (Vickie) of Pinehurst, North Carolina; daughter, Kay Wall Owens of Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Juanita Peavy (Bob) of Quitman, Mississippi and Glenda Sue Bounds (Jimmy) of Newton, Mississippi; three nieces and a nephew.
