Ed passed away in the presence of family and friends on November 16, 2021. He was involved in many activities during his lifetime, but he will be remembered most for his love for family and friends, service to his church, and his knowledge and passion for all things WWII.

He was preceded in death by his mother Katherine Dickens Carpenter, his grandmother, Fannie Dickens, and his aunts Gerry Dickens, Ruth Bourland, and Mary Lois Glover.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Carpenter, his daughter Kathy Torres, his grandsons, Glenn Torres (Kristy), Graham Torres (Darrah) and Griffin Torres, and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Wright &. Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton. A graveside service will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
