Alvis Earl Lawson, age 82, of Raymond, MS went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2017. Earl was born in Wasola, MO on September 4, 1934. After moving to Sapulpa, OK, Earl met his wife Shirlee. They graduated from Sapulpa High School and they were married in 1952. They moved to Jackson in 1954. Earl was a long-time real estate and construction businessman in the Jackson area and Greenwood. He was actively involved in his community; a board member at Hope House, actively supported the YMCA and Scouts, a Master Mason, contributed to the international work of Health Talents, and served as an alderman in Raymond where he and his wife lived. He served as an Elder at Meadowbrook Church of Christ while living in Jackson.
Earl is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirlee Tye Lawson, his brother Marvin Lawson of Sapulpa, his children; Vickie Fletcher (Craig), Ronda Densford (Jimmy), Aleesa Jones, Al Lawson (Cathy) and Laine Lawson Craft (Steve). He has 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond on March 11 at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. prior to the memorial service.
