Earl Coats, 81, passed away on June 22, 2023 in Jackson, MS. Visitation for Mr. Coats will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at First Baptist Church Raymond from 10:00am to 11:00am with a service following at 11:00am. A graveside service will be held at the Linn United Methodist Church Cemetery in Linn, MS.

Earl was born in Doddsville, MS on January 28, 1942. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Raymond. He worked at various companies in the woodworking industry. He owned Coats Custom Millwork in Raymond, MS for numerous years and was a gifted carpenter.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Annie Mae Coats of Cleveland, MS; brother J.W. Coats of Doddsville, MS and sister Bertha Mae Roberson of Doddsville, MS.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Virginia Coats; 3 children Steve Coats (Brenda) of Raymond, MS, Pam Lowe (Craig) of Florence, MS and Renee Cockerill (Chris) of New York, New York; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 nieces and many great nieces and nephews.
