Douglas A. Walters passed away on March 12, 2023. He was 80 years old. The family will receive visitation from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS. A visitation will be held at Ellisville Funeral Home in Ellisville, MS on Friday, March 17, 2023 from 10:00am to 11:30am with a graveside service at 12:00pm at Friendship Baptist Church in Ellisville, MS.

Doug was born March 30, 1942. After graduating high school in Ellisville, MS Doug joined the Army. He then went to work for South Central Bell. Doug married Claudine Walters while working in Grenada, MS. and moved to Jackson, MS. Doug owned Walters Audio in Jackson, MS. Doug retired from South Central Bell in 1991 and they moved to Raymond, MS where they enjoyed their horses, grandchildren and enjoying the wildlife.  Doug and Dean traveled with their horses to many states to trail ride and rode with the Wesson Wagon Train for many years. Doug loved to hunt in Colorado with his close friends. Doug's love for electronics kept him working at CenturyTel, CDE, Thomas and Betts and the finally working to repair gate openers.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Elsie Walters; brothers Herbert and Herschel (Mildred); sister Exel; brother-in-law Tom Beech.

His is survived by his wife Claudine "Dean" Walters; daughter Renee (Rob); son Greg (Christy) and three grandchildren who they knew as "PaPa", Hunter, Robin and Robsen; sisters Margaret Beech, Eleanor Purvis (George) and Deborah Martin (Gerald); brother Fred (Winnie); sister-in-law Ann Peppercorn and many other adoring family members.
