Dorothy Claire Smith, 93, died peacefully at Merit Health Central on August 31, 2022.  Ms. Smith was a life-long resident of Jackson and a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church.   She graduated from Central High School in Jackson and worked until her retirement at Trustmark Bank.   After her retirement she devoted herself to the care of her father and mother, Charles Lee Smith and Evalena Allen Smith, as well as several aunts on both the Smith and Allen side of her family. She is survived by numerous cousins on the Smith and Allen side of her family.  A graveside service will be held at Cedarlawn Cemetery in Jackson at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 6.  Memorial gifts may be directed to Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson, or to any charity.
