Dorothy Elizabeth Nicholson Osborn, 101, died Monday, May 2, 2016 at her home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 5, 2016 with services following at 11:30 am at the Salem Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
She was born in Terry, MS, on January 27, 1915 the daughter of Albert Clifton and Mabel Clair Milligan Nicholson. She graduated from Hinds Junior College where she met her husband of 61 years, Clarence Eugene (Billy) Osborn, Jr and they lived on the Osborn farm in the Lebanon community where they owned and operated C. E. Osborn General Merchandise Store on Highway 18 Raymond. She was a loyal and devoted member of Salem Baptist Church and she was always involved in the community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Vernon Nicholson, her sister, Jewel McCoy, her niece, Brenda Carol McCoy and her nephew, Kenneth McCoy. She is survived by her son, Eugene (Dickie) Osborn and his wife Ruth Ann; her daughter, Clair O. Seward; her sister, Velma McCoy of Terry; her grandson, Edward Russell Seward, III, of Raymond; and her granddaughters, Gina Lynn Sabine (Sammy) of New Orleans; Mary Crisler Parker (Barry) of Brandon; Elizabeth Clair (E.C.) Emmons (Marty) of Tupelo; Brenda Ruth Middleton (Ron) of Clinton; great granddaughters, Kiersten Elizabeth Bullock (Craig) of Madison and Rebecca Ruth Sabine of New Orleans; Elizabeth Chappell Emmons of Tupelo and Morgan Parker of Brandon; great grandsons, Benjamin Sabine, Blake Sabine of New Orleans; Gavin Parker of Brandon; and William Emmons of Tupelo; one great great grandson, Cameron Sabine of New Orleans; two nephews, Cliff McCoy of Terry and Al McCoy of Seattle, WA; and her special friend and caregiver, Helen Sanders of Utica.
