Dorothy Faye Legg Gore, 83, of Clinton, MS went to be with the Lord on May 28, 2017 at her home surrounded by family.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 29, 2017, 5 - 7 pm and funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2017, 11 am at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home, Clinton, MS.
Dorothy Faye (Dot) was born in Minter City, MS to Charles Henry Legg and Dolly L. Robison on December 3, 1933. She attended Drew High School in Sunflower County, MS. Dorothy Faye married Thomas Pepper Gore on June 3, 1951 in Drew, MS. She is his adored sweetheart and companion of 70 years. Many people remember when Dot worked as the office nurse at Van Winkle Medical Clinic for Drs. Albert L. Gore and Irvin Cronin from 1960 until 1973. She gladly went with her husband, Tom, when he re-enlisted on active duty with the United States Army Medical Service Corps and retired as Brigadier General of the Mississippi National Guard.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Dorothy Ann Garrett.
Dorothy Faye is survived by her husband of 66 years, Tom Gore; her children, Pat Gore Bakelaar (John) of Brandon, MS; Beth Gore of New Orleans, LA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Ellen Garrett Gore (Shawn) of North Glenn, CO and Joe Garrett (Kelley) of Austin, TX and great granddaughters, Sydni Garrett, Aia Norton and Ciera Garrett. She also leaves behind her brother, John Legg, PhD (Betty) of Clinton, MS; Sam Gore, PhD. of Clinton, MS; Bill Gore, PhD. (Lois) of Natchez, MS; Dan Gore (Sylvia) of Muncy, Pennsylvania; Aunt Ramona Kyle of Ruleville, MS and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
