Obituary

Dorothy Sue Herron Husbands was called to be with Jesus, her husband, Robert, and daughter Brenda Haddon on Saturday, June 26, 2021. She passed away at home following an acute illness with her son, Bobby, at her side. She was a Christian woman who spent her life being a loving mother and caregiver. Sue was born February 18, 1936 to Lorraine Ellis and was raised by her Aunt Una and Uncle Max Herron who she called Mama and Daddy. She graduated from Hinds Community College. She met the love of her life at the bank in Raymond where she was working as a teller. Robert entered the bank after returning home from being stationed in Germany with the U. S. Army. He was being helped by one teller, but another teller, Sue, caught his eye. They kept looking at each other while smiling and waving to each other. After dating 6 months, they got married on 11/8/57. They were married for 63 years. Her life long love passed away 5 months ago and has been missing him terribly ever since. Sue loved her family very much. She took care of Robert every day after he suffered a tragic stroke. She spent her last days going to the beach with her children and grandchildren, going fishing, and going shopping for clothes and books. She loved reading books and going to the library. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine Ellis, "Mama", Una Herron, "Daddy", Max Herron, sister, Maxine Burkett (Nip), and daughter, Brenda Sue Husbands Haddon. She is survived by her sister, Macel Giles (Jack), sister, Mildred Dunn (L. A.), brother, James Daniels (Stella), son, Robert Ernest Husbands (Gail), daughter, Amy Husbands Lenoir (Chris), son-inlaw, Hal Haddon, grandchildren Jonathan Haddon (Arrie), Kimberly Haddon, William Lenoir, Willow Lenoir, and greatgrandchildren, Meredith Haddon and Wilson Haddon. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. and Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, with a graveside service at the Utica Cemetery at 11 a.m. Lunch will be provided by First Baptist Church of Utica following the service.
