Dorothy Taylor Curtis, of Flowood, Mississippi passed away peacefully on Saturday August 16, 2025, following a recent illness. Born September 19, 1933 in the home of her parents David and Maude Taylor of Crawford, Mississippi, Dorothy was cherished as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, touching the lives of all who knew her with her deep Compassion and welcoming spirit.

Dorothy's hallmark was her listening ear and warm embrace, qualities that endeared her to family and friends alike. Whether tending to her beloved garden, losing herself in a good book, or gathering with friends at the local YMCA, Dorothy found joy in life's simple pleasures and shared that joy generously with others.

A dedicated member of Flowood Baptist Church, Dorothy lived out her faith through acts of kindness and community service, forging lifelong friendships and inspiring all around her.

Dorothy's legacy is carried on by her daughters Diane Curtis Sharron (Rock), Renee Curtis Blackburn (Tim), and her son David Kennon Curtis Sr (Pat) as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the lights of her life.

She will be deeply missed, but her memory and the love she showed will remain in our hearts forever.  A memorial service to honor Dorothy will be held at Flowood Baptist Church on Sunday, August 24, 2025.  Friends and family visitation will be from 12:45 to 1:30 pm.  The memorial service will commence at 1:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a local charity or church of your choosing.
