Obituary

Dorothy "DOT" Evelyn Worden Barker was born January 7, 1925 in New Milford, CT. to Wallace and Maude Worden. She died January 14, 2018 at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS at the age of 93 years old.
She graduated from Danbury, CT. School of Nursing in 1945. After meeting and marrying LV Barker in 1946, they moved to Jackson, MS.
She was employed as an R.N. at the Baptist Hospital, Children's Clinic, and retired in 1984 from the Long, Dees, Edwards and Switzer Clinic. After retiring, she and LV enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States and several cruises.
Our Momma was a true lover of all things in nature. She nurtured her family and all wildlife that crossed her path. She always had a cat that only she could befriend.
After moving to Clinton, MS. in 1979, she became a long time member of Wildwood Baptist Church in Clinton. She was a devout Christian lady and truly loved her Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and great-great granddaughter Norah Kate Vaughn.
Dot is survived by her son, Paul "Butch" Barker (Juanita) and daughter, Susan "Susie" Dickson (Bill). She is also survived by her grandchildren who lovingly called her "Mammaw"; Micheal Barker (Tammy),
Jeff Barker, Sharon Barker (Jimmy Rogers), Holli Barnes (Kevin), Amanda Martin, Mike Dickson (Nanette) and Kim Darrow (Wayne); her great grandchildren, Jenni Nelson, Jake Nelson, Parker Burns, Sydney Warrington, Pride Warrington, Allison Dickson, Tyler, Michael and Kimberly Beard; two great-great granddaughters Jane Kratochvil and Ellacyn Wall. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Services will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS. On Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 12:00pm with Visitation from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Burial will be at 2:00pm at Pine Bluff Dentville Cemetery in Dentville, MS.
Officiating the service will be her beloved friend, Rev. Cliff Nelson. Memorials can be made to Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital, 2500 N. State St., Jackson, MS 39216.
