Don Wendland, 90, passed away on October 28, 2024, surrounded by his family at their home.  He was born on October 24, 1934, in Alpha, IA, on a hundred-acre farm.

Don was known for his kindness and generosity, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He enjoyed fishing, working in the yard, and watching anything related to Mississippi State. He dedicated his entire career to Equitable Life Assurance Company, where he worked until his retirement in 1988. He was a mentor and coach, impacting many lives throughout his career.

He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his spouse of 67 years, Mary Beth Wendland; his sons, Donald Wendland Jr. and his wife Leslie Wendland, along with their two daughters, Hannah and Kaitlyn; Brad Wendland; and Jay Wendland and his wife Deborah Wendland. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on November 2, 2024, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Clinton, MS, at 4 PM with visitation beginning at 3 PM before the service. A reception will follow after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all donations be given to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Clinton, MS.
