Don Carpenter, 54, of Clinton, died Friday, February 27, 2015. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 to 7 pm at Wright and Ferguson in Clinton. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at Northside Baptist Church beginning at 11:00 am preceded by one hour of visitation. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Don was born in New Orleans on September 1, 1960 and 6 weeks later he was adopted by N. W. and Dorothy Carpenter. He was raised and lived most of his life in Clinton where he attended the Clinton Public Schools. He graduated from North West Community College with an associate degree in mortuary science and he served the Vicksburg and Jackson areas with several different funeral homes. After leaving funeral service, he continued using his customer service skills at different customer based businesses. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church, a member of the Sons of the Confederacy in Brandon, and he was a civil war reenactor with the Mississippi Stanford Battery.
Don was preceded in death by his mother, he is survived by his wife, Lacy M. Carpenter; his daughter, Ashley Shaffer and her husband Anthony; his granddaughter, Molly Shaffer; and his father, Nollie Wilbur Carpenter, Jr.
