Dequoida Jean Kees

Dequoida Kees, 64, of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026.

Born in Jackson, Mississippi, to Barbara Hood and Thomas Westmoreland, Dequoida was known for her love of animals, especially cats. She had a kind heart and found joy in caring for the many pets she welcomed into her life over the years. She enjoyed spending time with family and those she loved.

Dequoida is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Martin, and son-in-law, Edward Martin; her sisters, TJ Pierce, Gwendolyn Brooks, and Chrissie List (Bernard); her beloved nieces and nephews; along with extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Hood and Thomas Westmoreland, and other loved ones who welcomed her home.

Dequoida will be remembered for her love, her caring spirit, and the many lives she touched throughout her years. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, 114 Burney Drive, Flowood, Mississippi 39232, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Dequoida's life and memory.
