Dennis Charles
Reese
October 26, 1967 – March 13, 2023
Our beloved husband, father, poppy, and friend passed away Monday, March 13, 2023. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023, with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, Mississippi.
Dennis was from Clinton, MS, was a member of First United Methodist Church in Clinton and graduated with a bachelors in business administration from Mississippi State University where he enjoyed cheering for the Bulldogs and loudly ringing his cowbell, playing rugby, working in sports information, and making incredible lifelong friends. This is also where he met the love of his life, Laura Brannon Reese. They met and were married within a year. They married in December of 1992 and celebrated 30 beautiful and lovely years together. Dennis and Laura raised three amazing daughters that they love fiercely. They also have two grandchildren that they love just as fiercely if not more so.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Laura, three daughters Heather Reese, Katie Reese, and Payton Reese Hudson (Wyatt), two grandchildren Lindley Anne and Christopher Jameson, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless brothers by affection. He is known to his loved ones by many names including Poppy, Den, Papa, Dad, and Uncle Batman. Dennis is preceded in death by his loving mother and father, Andy and Dotti Reese, and his Aunt Pat Reese.
Dennis has become an avid amateur wood worker and loved nothing more than making and sharing his projects with his family and friends.
Dennis was known for his love of all things sports. He loved the Red Sox, the Celtics, the Steelers, the Clinton Arrows, the UAB Blazers, the MRA Patriots, and of course his Bulldogs. He was on top of the world when the diamond dawgs won the National title. Through his massive love for sports, he developed many longtime friendships.
His amazing and witty sense of humor and his beautiful laugh will live on through his loved ones, that exist far and wide. He loved his family and we will continue to uphold his legacy. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in Dennis' name to TEAAM in support of Kamp Kaleidoscope for sports equipment.
