Donnis M. "Dee" Wells, a dedicated servant of God, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and tireless service.
Born in Montebello, California, Dee's life was marked by a profound commitment to spreading the word of God and building communities of faith across the United States.
In 1967, Dee moved to Millington, TN, where she found her spiritual home at Millington First United Pentecostal Church. Her unwavering dedication to her faith led her to serve in various capacities within the church, including as a Sunday school teacher and president of the Ladies Auxiliary. Dee's passion for ministry knew no bounds. Throughout her life, she traveled extensively, crisscrossing the country to help establish new churches and conferences.
In 1999, she played a pivotal role in the establishment of the "Ye are Chosen" conference in Martinsville, Indiana, at the Apostolic Faith Church, a testament to her commitment to empowering others in their faith journey. This conference continues to thrive today, a lasting tribute to Dee's vision and dedication.
In addition to her local ministry efforts, Dee supported missions work in other parts of the world, demonstrating her heart for spreading the gospel beyond her immediate community.
In 1991, Dee relocated to Florence, Mississippi, where she became a member and minister of Jesus Name Tabernacle. There, she dedicated herself to mentoring her grandchildren and many others in ministry, leaving a lasting mark on the lives of those she touched.
Dee is survived by her four children: Jeffrey C. "Jeff" Wells, Victoria "Vicky" Keller, Sharon Pyle (Lloyd), and Patricia "Patti" Fields (Ken). She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and friends from all over.
Dee's impact extended far beyond the borders of any one community. Her love for God, family, and her fellow believers was evident in everything she did, and her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A Celebration of Dee's life will be held at 12:00pm Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Jesus Name Tabernacle Church. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until service time. Interment will follow in Jesus Name Tabernacle Church Cemetery.
