David Eugene Hart (73) passed away Friday, January 22, 2016, at University of Mississippi Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born June 27, 1942, to Julius E. Hart and Ruth Walter Hart, both deceased. He grew up in Cleveland, MS. David graduated from Mississippi State University and was a life-long Bulldog fan. David was a volunteer soccer coach for Southwest Jackson Soccer League. He gained satisfaction from completing do-it-yourself projects including automotive repair and building construction. His insurance claims career spanned nearly fifty years, working at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, AmFed, and Mississippi Insurance Guaranty Associates, where he retired in June, 2014. He was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church.
David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia M. Hankins Hart (Jackson, MS), daughter, Aimee Hart Stone (Kevin) (Hattiesburg, MS), sons, David Hart Jr. (Apopka, FL) and Jonathan Hart (Jackson, MS), brother Gene Hart (Carol) (Cordova,TN), nephews, Patrick and Andrew Hart (Los Angeles, CA), and 3 grandchildren, Adam, Logan, and Laney Stone (Hattiesburg, MS).
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS. Visitation is at 2:00 pm with the service beginning at 3:00 pm. According to David's wishes, his ashes will be interred in a private service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wage Hope, research for pancreatic cancer.
