Daniel Lee
Broadfoot
February 1, 1955 – November 24, 2024
In Loving Memory of Daniel Lee Broadfoot, age 69, of Madison, Mississippi, who entered into the presence of the Lord on November 24, 2024.
Danny was born on February 1, 1955, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Jimarie Wells and Valorie Evans Broadfoot. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of forty-seven years, Lawona, and their only son, Dane, who was his pride and joy. Dane and his wife, Becky, along with their three children—Charlotte, Laurel, and Kaladin—have been a constant source of joy and delight for Danny. As a nod to his Scottish heritage, the grandchildren affectionately called him "Dey." Other family members include two beloved sisters: Deborah Broadfoot of Madison, and Deirdre Broadfoot Bowers and her late husband, Cliff Bowers, of Johns Creek, Georgia. Danny was incredibly proud of his nephew, Evan Bowers.
Danny loved Jesus and growing in his knowledge of the Bible. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Meridian for nearly thirty years. Danny actively served on several committees and was a member of the Sonrise Sunday School Class, where he served as treasurer and enjoyed fellowship with the Tuesday morning Men's Prayer Group. As a greeter, he welcomed people at Central for years with a smile and a hug. After moving to Madison, Harvest Church became his new church home, where he was nurtured under gospel-centered preaching, teaching, and fellowship. The men's Rise Up discipleship group was something he looked forward to each Monday morning.
One of Danny's greatest joys was being part of the Sunrise Hunting Club. Deer camp has been a cherished tradition in the Broadfoot family for four generations, beginning with Danny's father. He loved being in nature, socializing with the camp members, eating great food, and enjoying a game of "I got it." Every Saturday morning during hunting season, you could always find him in the kitchen frying up a tasty breakfast.
Danny had a forty-year career designing commercial kitchens and selling equipment. He had a servant's heart and relished bringing a design to life, always going the extra mile to ensure a customer was happy.
Since 2017, Danny has served as a director of Covington County Bank, honoring the memory of his father, who was one of the original founders of the bank.
A celebration of Danny's life and faith will be held on Wednesday, November 27, at 11:00 AM at Harvest Church (820 Wilson Drive, Ridgeland, Mississippi 39157), officiated by Pastor Kyle York. Burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery in Hebron, Mississippi, in Jones County at 2:00 pm. The family will receive visitors from 9:00 to 11:00 am on the same day at Harvest Church, prior to the service. The 11:00 am service will be live-streamed at the link below for those unable to attend:

Pallbearers will be Lynn Buckalew, Brad Roe, Steve Brantley, James Whitehead, Larry Waters, and Jim Humphreys. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Sunrise Hunting Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Harvest Church Mission Fund. Make checks payable to Harvest Church with "Missions" in the memo line. Danny was excited about the impact this ministry is making.
