Clarence E. Brown, Jr. (JR) passed away on September 14, 2022 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS.  JR was born August 4, 1934 in Oceola, Arkansas.  He was the son of Clarence E. Brown, Sr. and Hattie Ellen Brown.  JR moved with his family to Jackson, MS in 1946.  He is a life member of the U S Army NCO Association, life member of the Mississippi NCO Association and life member of the American Legion Post 1.  He was Commander of Post 1 in 1986-1987.  He retired from the MS National Guard in August 1994.  He worked for United Gas Pipe Line before leaving to work with Mississippi Power and Light in 1973.  He retired from Entergy in 1996.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Hightower Brown, his parents, and his brothers Eddie and Bill Brown.  He is survived by his son Craig and wife Susan, daughter Angie and husband Oscar Deleon, son Doug, daughter Jennifer and husband Kendal Goode, stepson Marty Williams, stepdaughter Janice Rushing, and stepdaughter Cindy and husband Mark Burns.  Grandchildren Anderson Brown, Mackenzie Goolsby, Kelsey Lofton, Madalyne Johnson, Callen Goode, Lance and Abbie Rushing, and Bethany Lee Todd.  Great Grandchildren Cooper and Ellis Goolsby, Beckett Lofton, and Mia Todd, Levi and Mary Evelyn Johnson, Kendal and Luke Middleton

There will be a small family only gathering and JR's remains will be placed at Columb Burial Gardens at St. Columb Episcopal Church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Columb's Building Fund.
