Charles Maxwell Sudduth, Jr., 73, died on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in Jackson, Mississippi. Visitation will be on January 26, 2024, in the Greeting Courtyard of First Presbyterian Church from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Services will follow at First Presbyterian Church at 12:00 p.m. noon Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Max was born on June 21, 1950, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Charles Maxwell Sudduth, Sr. and Gladys Baxter Sudduth. He attended Jackson Public Schools and graduated from Murrah High School in 1968. He went on to study at Mississippi State University. After enjoying a career in medical information technology in El Paso, Texas, Tupelo, and Jackson, he then pursued a career in full-time residential rental property ownership and management.
Max was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Jackson and was especially devoted to its Internationals Ministry and the Saturday Morning Men's Prayer group. He was also involved in the church's mission efforts to Ukraine for many years.
He is predeceased by his parents, and is survived by his only child, Elizabeth Sudduth Eveland (Dan); sister, Joyce Sudduth Cannada (Don); three grandchildren, Henry Sudduth Eveland, Lyons Jonathan Eveland and Garrison Baxter Eveland; two nieces, Lauren Cannada Lomax (Christopher) and Camille Jacqueline Cannada; two nephews, Ray Baker Cannada (Cathy) and Baxter Lewis Cannada; six great-nieces and great-nephews; and a stepbrother Louis (Linda) Howell and a stepsister Nanolyn (Virgil) Smail. Max is also survived by his wife Karina and his former wife, Margaret Johnson Sudduth, who remained a good friend throughout his life.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Day School, 1390 North State Street, Jackson, MS 39202, or to French Camp Academy, 1 Fine Place, French Camp, MS 39745.
