Charles Floyd Page, 83, of Clinton, Mississippi went to be with his Lord after a brief illness.
He was born on October 11, 1935, in Wilson, North Carolina. His parents were Floyd and Vena Davis Page. When Charles was 4 years old and his younger brother, Eugene was 2, his parents died. Charles and Eugene were placed in the Freewill Baptist Orphanage in Middlesex, North Carolina. Charles remained there until he was 16 years old.
Charles traveled to several states and worked various jobs. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Later in 1963, he traveled to Memphis, Tennessee. There Charles became a Christian believing God loved him and sent His Son, Jesus, to be the propitiation for our sins (1 John 4:10).
Charles attended Mid–South Bible College and began preparing for the ministry. He also attended Union University in Jackson, Tennessee and Memphis State University in Memphis where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree. Later, he attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned a Master of Divinity. Charles pastored churches for over 40 years in Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana. For a brief time he taught high school students in history and civics while also coaching, baseball, basketball, and tennis.
Charles enjoyed all kinds of sports and was very active in baseball, basketball, tennis and golf. Until he became ill he played golf and fished. He also enjoyed reading and writing.
Charles met his future wife, Linda Ruth Allen in 1963 at Breedlove Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee, where a friend was pastoring. They were married in 1964 and had 2 children, Mark Everett Page and Ruth Lynn Page Travis. Ruth is married to John Paul Travis. Bringing much joy to Charles and Linda are three granddaughters, Anna Kate Travis Rimmer (Elliot), Sarah Grace Travis Zetterholm (David), and Laura Joy Travis.

Funeral services for Rev. Page are Wednesday, September 25, 2019. The service and visitation will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS. Visitation begins at 1:30pm with the service following at 2:30pm. Following, the graveside service will be at Lakewood Cemetery in Jackson, MS.
