Charles Letrell Griffith, Sr., 91, passed away on June 5, 2016. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Charles was born on November 21, 1924 in Hattiesburg, MS to Joseph Griffith and Pearl Hollingsworth Griffith. He joined the Army and fought in World War II in Germany. He lived in the Jackson area for over 60 years and retired from ABF Trucking. He was involved with the prison and youth ministry through Oakley Training School in Raymond. He was also a member of Wynndale Baptist Church in Terry.

Charles is survived by his wife of 72 years, Myrtis Griffith; his son, Charles Griffith, Jr. (Linda); his daughters, Pat Busby (Don) and Bettye Davis (John Kent); nine grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
