Charles L. Gilmore, 80, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018. Mr. Gilmore was a resident of the Arbor Nursing Home. He was born in Jackson, MS on September 7, 1937 to the late Lloyd Tucker Gilmore and Kate Patrick Gilmore. He grew up in Clinton, MS where he attended Clinton High School. He was a good athlete and ran track, played football and basketball for the Arrows. After graduating in 1955, Mr. Gilmore attended Mississippi College followed by going to work in the natural gas industry with United Gas. He retired in December of 1991 after 32 years of devoted service.
Mr. Gilmore was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Kate Gilmore and his brother Lloyd. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Flowers Gilmore, Brother, Richard Joseph Gilmore (Sue) of Williamsburg, VA, and his sister-in-law, Janet Simmons Gilmore of Terry, MS.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 6:00pm at Wright and Ferguson in Flowood. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
