Carla Chapman Sturdivant, 76, passed away on May 31, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Lakewood Memorial Park Pavilion in Jackson, MS.

Carla was born on September 6, 1946 in Jackson, MS. She was a master craftswoman and member, with her husband, of the Mississippi Craftsmen's Guild, Louisiana Craftsmen's Guild and Tennessee Craftsmen's Guild. She was a regular on the arts and crafts festival circuits in the region since the 1970's making at first furniture and later fused glass art.

Carla helped lead a support group for those with ostomies for many years. Both her works and her kindness have touched many, many lives over the decades.

Carla was preceded in death by her parents, Lois Smith Chapman and William E. Chapman, Jr.

Carla is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Roger Lee Sturdivant; her son, Christopher Todd Sturdivant; her granddaughter, Serena Mary Rivers Sturdivant; and her brother, William E. Chapman, III.
