Obituary

Bonnie Sue Andrews, 67, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at Merit Health River Oaks Medical Center in Flowood, Mississippi. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia, on June 15, 1952, and currently resided in Pearl, Mississippi, with her husband, Wayne.

Bonnie was a 1970 graduate of Coldwater High School in Coldwater, Mississippi, and continued her education by taking a number of undergraduate courses at Clarke College in Newton, Mississippi, from 1971-72. She worked for more than 30 years as an inventory control specialist at Family Christian Stores in Jackson, which was followed by her employment as a patient advocate with St. Dominic Health Services, also of Jackson. She most recently worked part time as a funeral director's assistant with Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood.

Bonnie loved the Lord fervently and served Him relentlessly, regardless of what the situation required. She never turned down an opportunity to minister to others and was an avid prayer warrior. She volunteered in many ministry positions; she was an active mission helper with Christian Women's Job Corps for a time. She loved participating in mission projects; she also traveled many times with women's church groups to spiritual retreats and conferences to learn more about how she could best serve the Lord. An active member of Flowood Baptist Church, she was a lifetime Sunday School teacher and was also involved in the church's music programs. She was a competitive person who enjoyed playing card and board games; she was also a championship bowler for a number of years. She loved traveling with her husband and also enjoyed watching football, baseball, and tennis matches with him.

Bonnie had a contagious smile and a beautiful spirit. Her passion for life was evident in how she loved her family and her friends. She was an encourager who modeled how to treat others with dignity, respect, and the love of Jesus. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Wayne Andrews of Pearl; father, Otis Johnson and step-mother Mamie Johnson of Batesville; daughters, Melodye Hall of Pearl; Vickie Hall of Murphys, California; Amber Pease (Adam) of San Angelo, Texas, Vanessa Andrews of Endwell, New York, and Erica Lewin (Rick) of Baldwinsville, New York.
