Bobbye Nell Butler passed on from this life on April 23, 2019 at 95 years of age, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 10:00am - 11:30am at First Baptist Church Jackson with funeral services beginning at 11:30am.

Bobbye Nell loved the Lord first among all things in life and lived her life in His image. She dearly loved her church, First Baptist Church of Jackson, and served in many capacities at the church, including being a Sunday school teacher and singing in the choir.

Bobbye Nell had no children of her own but touched the lives of thousands of children during her life. She was passionate about education and fulfilled this passion by serving as an elementary school teacher for 44 years. Bobbye Nell was an excellent cook and she also loved to sew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mims Butler; parents, Carl and Lena Bailey; sisters, Katherine Wright (Dr. Charles Wright) and Ruth Arnold; and nephew, Dr. Charles Wright, Jr.

She is survived by her nephew, Douglas Arnold and wife Lynn of Guntown; niece, Jo Ann Crawford and husband David of Madison; nephew, David Wright of Palm Springs, CA;, and niece Deborah Meadows of Pearl; 4 great nieces; and 7 great great nieces and nephews.
