Bobbie Barr Rhodes, beloved grandmother "Nanny" passed away in the comfort of her home on October 03, 2024, at the age of 86 in Brandon, Mississippi. Born on April 17, 1938, to Irma and Robert Price. Bobbie lived a life full of love, service, and dedication.
Bobbie attended Central High School in Jackson, MS. After high school she continued her education in nursing school. Bobbie went on to start her career at University Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. She devoted years of service as a dedicated Registered Nurse up until retirement. It would be at UMMC where Bobbie would meet her husband, William Rhodes. She had a passion for quilting, and would often make prayer quilts for the members of her church congregation. These quilts were beautiful pieces of art. Bobbie was a member of Fannin Methodist Church in Fannin, Mississippi. There she would attend service, was a Sunday school teacher, and a volunteer. Nanny loved to read, and would get so lost in a book that she wouldn't put it down until she finished it. She owned hundreds of books and would often pass them off to friends. Bobbie was extremely intelligent. She loved her family very much.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her late husband William Rhodes; mother and father, Irma and Robert B. Price; brothers, Ben David Price and Revis Edward Price; and her daughter, Dorothy Annette Lambert- Sligh.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Susanne (John) Polk of Alabama, Cynthia (PJ) Nichols of Alabama, and William Michael (Kalyn) Farmer of Brandon, Mississippi; niece, Connie Price; nephew, Robert (Angelia) Price; niece, Deborah (Kenneth) Smith; nephew, Steve (Donna) Price; nephew, David Price; nephew, Jonathan Price; sister-in-law, Gloria Price; as well as many great, great-great grandchildren; and great nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held at 2pm Monday, October 7, 2024 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, Flowood with visitation from 12pm – 2pm. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Jackson.
