Billie Jarnagin, 96, of Clinton, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center on September 30, 2025. She was born on July 2, 1929, in McNairy County, Tennessee, the daughter of William and Susie Olive. Billie was one of eight children and grew up on the family farm. She graduated from Ramer High School, and then married her great love, Rayford Jarnagin. Together they had three children, Nathan, Steve, and Jana, and they built a life in Memphis, Tennessee and then Jackson, Mississippi.

Billie was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was very involved in her church and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson for 70 years. She was very active in missions organizations, taught children's classes, tutored in the His Heart neighborhood ministry, and served on many committees over the years.

Following the sudden death of her husband, Rayford, in 1975, she worked full-time with World Book Encyclopedia in sales and then as a manager. Billie won numerous awards during her working years with World Book and enjoyed many opportunities for company travel.

Billie is survived by her son Nathan of Clinton, Mississippi, Steve (Mickey) of Terry, Mississippi, and Jana (Chuck) of Gallatin, Tennessee and six grandchildren: Beth, Nate, Ched, Blake, Tyler, and Jacey. She is also survived by three great grandchildren, J. T., Claire, and James. She is survived by a multitude of friends who loved her dearly and who greatly enriched her life.

Visitation with family will be held on Monday, October 6th from 5:00-7:00 pm at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, Mississippi and on Tuesday, October 7th from 1:00-2:00 pm. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton.
