It is with great sadness that the family of Bill Ridout of Raymond, MS, announce his passing on August 27, 2023, at the age of 78 years.  A Memorial Service will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond, MS on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2:00pm.

Bill was born in Meridian, MS, and grew up in Bailey, MS, before moving to Jackson, MS, in 1964 and then Raymond, MS, in 1985.  He studied civil engineering at Mississippi State University for 2 years.  Then he eloped with his sweetheart, Patricia Ann Secrest, on August 15, 1964.  They were married for 59 years and still deeply in love.  They are both members of Salem Baptist Church in Learned, MS.

Bill worked as an HVAC salesman serving dealers around the state until he retired.  His customers were very loyal to him and would follow him if he changed brands or companies through the years.

He built and shot muzzleloaders competitively as a hobby and liked to deer and squirrel hunt.  He also wrote articles for a Mississippi magazine.  His favorite movies were Jeremiah Johnson and Last of the Mohicans, and he watched them many times.  He didn't like rock music, but his favorite group was Creedence Clearwater Revival.  His favorite thing to do was spending time with his family.  His grandchildren called him "Pa".

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Helen Ridout; brother, Michael Allen Ridout.

His is survived by his wife, Pat Ridout; daughter, Terri Shaw & husband Buddy; Grandchildren, Mike Shaw & wife Courtney, Christian Shaw & wife Megan; Great-grandchildren, Maddie Shaw, Patrick Shaw, Emma Shaw & Harper Shaw; Sisters, Nancy Landrum & husband Don, Judy Pizzetta & husband Ken;

Brother-In-Law, Bill Secrest; Nieces and Nephews, Greg Keyes & wife Nell, Tim Keyes & wife Gwen, Karen Spangler, Renee Hunt and Joseph Secrest & wife Jade.
