Betty Ann "BetBet" (Clark) Callaway, daughter of the late Tom Clark and Mary Camilla (Taylor) Clark was born April 11, 1929 in Childress, Arkansas and departed this life on February 7, 2017 in Jackson, Mississippi at the age of 87.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Mary Clark, husband Floyd Callaway, sister and brother-in-law Henrietta Camilla (Clark) Taylor and L.H. Taylor.
She is survived by two daughters Carol Ann Lehman and Andrea Gail Garner and son-in-law, Bud Garner, one granddaughter Jennifer Suzanne Gatewood and her husband, Dr. Joseph Chet Gatewood, grandson Richard Clark Lehman and his wife Lou Ellen (Williamson) Lehman, great grandsons Nicholas Wayne Lehman and Joseph Dylan Gatewood, and great granddaughters Amber Victoria Lehman and Hannah Nicole Gatewood.
Betty married Floyd Callaway on February 8, 1947 In Paragould, Arkansas. Betty attended Ouachita Baptist College and Arkansas State University and held B.S. and M.S. Degrees in Education. She taught in Childress, Arkansas, Cardwell, Missouri, Kennett, Missouri, Memphis, Tennessee and Olive Branch, Mississippi for a total of 52 years. Betty's hobbies and interest were family, cooking, travel and entertaining.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Friday, February 10, 2017 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS with a Memorial Service following at 2:00pm.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Clinton, a veterans group or charities involving children.
