Bessie Thompson Coker, 100, died Saturday, August 3, 2019. She was born on November 27, 1918 the daughter of Elmo Thompson and Vernon McPhate Thompson. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday August 7, 2019 in Lakewood Memorial Park with Reverend Ken Anderson officiating.
Mrs. Coker was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Tom Coker, her sisters, Martha Wroten and husband Bill, Mildred Arnold and husband Bluford, Leoma Kinsley and husband George and her brother, Everette Thompson and wife Ruby.
She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and she had retired from Bellsouth, Jackson MS, as a longtime Manager of the service order typist group.
Survivors include her nephews, Everette Thompson and wife Becky, Horace Thompson and wife Wanda. Her nieces, Mellie Bolen, Evelyn Beattie and husband Mike and special friends, Dean Dewees and wife Joyce, Jimmy and Joan Boodworth.
