Bertha Lynn "Bert" Barnett, 83, of Raymond, MS, passed away on August 18, 2025, in Baker, LA. She was born on December 15, 1941, in Amite County, MS.

Bert was preceded in death by her parents, Robert W. Hollingsworth and Pearl Jackson Hollingsworth, first husband, Johnny L. Whitehead, her second husband, Oliver E. Barnett, Jr., and all five of her siblings.

She is survived by her husband, John Spillman; her children, Lisa Loper, Eddie Barnett, Michael Barnett, and Robert Barnett; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews who she all cherished deeply.

A devoted homemaker, Bert took great pride in her home and especially loved flowers and having a well-kept yard.

Visitation will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond, MS, on Saturday, August 23, from 5:00–7:00 p.m., and again on Sunday, August 24, from 1:00–2:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by a brief family graveside service at Edwards Cemetery in Edwards, MS.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Parkinson's Research Foundation or a similar organization.
