Bernard W. Chill, Jr., age 73, died of natural causes on February 18, 2024 in Flowood, MS.
Bernie is survived by his wife of 27 years, Ginger, of Flowood. He is also survived by son, Forrest Porter, Jr., daughter-in-law Sara Porter, and granddaughter, Edie Steele Porter of Brandon. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard W. Chill, Sr., mother, Lilyan R. Chill, and sister, Marlane Dove.
Bernie was born on February 10, 1951, attended high school at Phillips Exeter in New Hampshire, and graduated from Tulane University. He received his law degree from the University of Mississippi and practiced law at the same location in Jackson (Chill and Chill Law Offices) for 31 years.
Bernie was a great family man and a loving father. His family and friends will always remember him as a generous, fun-loving person who enjoyed entertaining them. Favorite pastimes were cooking, golf, and wood working, and he and Ginger enjoyed many wonderful trips all over the world together. He was a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Brandon, MS.
Visitation will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will be held at the Belzoni Cemetery at 2:30 PM on the same day.
The family would like to thank all who loved and cared for Bernie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lakeside Presbyterian Church.
