Benny Ray Dansby, 81, left this world on August 31, 2022, surrounded by family at his home.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Benny was born in Jackson, MS on April 28, 1941, the son of the late William Thomas Dansby and Willie Estelle Bradley Dansby.  He finished school in Byram and worked in the automobile industry as body shop manager; particularly, Paul Moak Pontiac for 30 years and then in various dealerships in Atlanta for an additional 25 years.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Benita Nanney Dansby; three daughters, Patricia Dansby, Dawn Day, Deidre Vandenbos and one son, Mark Day, along with his grandchildren, Layla Richey, Alexa Burns, Ian Day, Mia Day, Alex Day and Seth Day, as well as several great grandchildren.  He is also survived by two brothers, Tommy and Robert Dansby and two sisters, Janet Owens and Frankie Williams.  His sisters-in-law, Melinda Brewer and Anne Boyette, and his mother-in-law, Doris Nanney, will also be mourning his passing.
