On January 24, 2026, Ben Freddy Vance passed away in his home at the age of 87.  Ben was a loving father and grandfather and was loved by many.  He was a retired Vietnam Army Sergeant and Machinist.  In his retirement years at home, you would often find him sitting on his front porch whittling making beautiful walking sticks, worry sticks and many other things.  He also loved cross word puzzles and watching Westerns.

Ben is survived by his children Michael Vance (Penny), Freddie Vance (Cheryl) and Tim Vance (Michele), grandchildren Erica Clay (Robert), Chris Cummings (Tonya), Ashlee Reed (Matt), Scottie Cummings (Beth), Ryan Vance and Holly Scott (Troy) as well as great grandchildren, sister and brothers-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ben is preceded in death by his wife Betty Vance, father Leonard Vance, mother Daisy Vance, sister Vinnie Floyd, brother Tandy Vance, children Barbara Ann Cummings, Jimmy Layne (Bo) Vance and grandson Michael Vance Jr.

A graveside service will be at 1:00 on Thursday January 29th at Salem Baptist Church, 2666 Learned Road, Raymond MS 39154.
