Mary Rebecca "Becky" Sullivan Cox, age 71, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.

Becky was born on November 13, 1954, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, Mississippi, to Daniel Emmett Sullivan and Thelma Ozell Sullivan. She was raised in Moss Point, Mississippi, where she formed lifelong friendships and cherished memories.

She later moved to Clinton, Mississippi, where she attended Mississippi College. On March 15, 1986, she married the love of her life, Russell Arrington Cox, in Jackson, Mississippi.

Becky dedicated much of her life to serving others through her work. She spent 20 years with Mississippi Valley Gas Company and another 20 years working with Dr. Lee Cope in pediatric dentistry, where her kindness and warmth touched countless families.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Russell Arrington Cox; her son, Daniel Arrington Cox; her beloved godchild, Emily Burwell; and Emily's son, Reece. She also leaves behind her cherished cats, Itty Bitty and Kitty.

Becky found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels, watching Arsenal matches with her son, and spending hours on the phone with her dear friends from Moss Point—Nancy, Ellen, and Terri. She loved watching Emily's son, Reece, play soccer. Known for her kind spirit, Becky never met a stranger. Her generous heart and selfless devotion to her family will continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew and loved her. Her son, Daniel, considers himself the luckiest person in the world to have been born to such a selfless and committed mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Emmett Sullivan and Thelma Ozell Sullivan.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Becky's memory to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League, 5221 Greenway Drive Extension, Jackson, Mississippi 39204.

Becky's life was a testament to love, friendship, and unwavering kindness, and she will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS.
