Obituary

Beatrice Ashlock Snazelle went to her heavenly home on Saturday June 28th 2025. "Bea" as she was known to everyone was born in rural western Kentucky on April 13,1940. Her family later moved to Elizabethtown, Kentucky where she lived until she graduated from Elizabethtown High School. She attended college at Western Kentucky University where she met her husband of 63 years, Ted Snazelle. The couple married in college and after graduation moved to Nashville, TN where she began her career as a Medical Technologist. Bea had a long career of over 40 years working in several different hospitals and cities as she moved around supporting her husband's educational and career pursuits. In 1980 Bea, Ted and the kids landed in Clinton, MS when Ted began his career with Mississippi College. Throughout her many years in Clinton, she not only worked, but was an active member of First Baptist Church Clinton where she served in the WMU as well as taught GA's, Acteens, and VBS for many years, but favorite place of service was in the bed baby class where she rocked babies on Sunday mornings for many years.

Her most cherished contributions to this world were always her children Blaine Snazelle and Gretchen Snazelle Purkey, and her grandchildren Taylor Snazelle Smith, John Snazelle, Bailey Purkey, Jake Purkey, and Mary Caroline Purkey. And of course, her great-granddaughter, Annie Snazelle.

She is proceeding in death by her parents John and Frances Ashlock, her husband, Ted Snazelle, and her granddaughter, Bailey Purkey. She is survived by her children Blaine Snazelle (Teri)and Gretchen Purkey (Randy), her grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
