Barney Burnell Coolman, 84, of Florence, MS passed away Friday, March 25, 2022 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Jesus Name Tabernacle in Florence. The family will receive friends from 12pm – 2:00pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Coolman was born in Colfax, LA on February 21, 1938 to the late John Gilbert and Isa Bell Dubois Coolman. He was a member of the D'Artigo Community in Grant Parish Louisiana for 58 years.

Barney is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra LeMoine Coolman; parents; and seven siblings; Emma Sanders, Geneva May, John Henry Coolman, Christy Coolman, Andrew Coolman, Walter Coolman, and Billie Rae Chelette.

He is survived by his children, Steven B. Coolman (Kandy), Becky Jo Fonville (Chauncey), Daniel E. Coolman (Cheryl), and Jesse T. Coolman (Sabrina); sister, Janie Mae Ballard (Cecil Wayne); grandchildren, Austin Coolman (Monty), Tucker Coolman, Amber Fonville, Isabel Fonville, Micah Coolman (Sarah), JuLea Coolman, Isla Coolman, Ethan Coolman, and Benjamin Clay Moak; great-grandson, Mason Coolman; and a host of nieces and nephews.
