Barbara Lynn Welburn, affectionately known by her nickname "Barbara Walters," passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, in Clinton, Mississippi, at the age of 80.

Barbara was born in New Mexico to Lola Mae Kitchell and Charlie Walters. She lived a life defined by resilience, love for her family, and a strong sense of independence that those closest to her will forever remember.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Red Welburn, with whom she shared many years of life and partnership.

Barbara is survived by her children, Flash Walker and Terri Walker; her grandchildren, Makenzie Walker and Mallory Wilson; her great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Adrian, and Makenna; and her siblings, Chuck Walters and Tom Walters. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister whose love for her family remained steadfast throughout her life.

A graveside service will be held at Clinton Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11.

Barbara's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
