Barbara B. Lunceford, 84, died peacefully August 23, 2022 in Madison, Mississippi.

She is survived by her daughters, Lori (Ben) Atkinson of Madison, Mississippi. Lea Ann (Darryl) Dabbs of Clinton, Mississippi. Grandchildren Benjamin and Bethany Atkinson of Madison, Mississippi; Dylan and Dawson Dabbs of Clinton, Mississippi.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul "Bud" Lunceford. Her parents, Alva F. and Lorene Bonds.

She was born on March 3, 1938, in Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated from Treadwell High School in Memphis and received an OB Tech certificate from St. Joseph Hospital in Memphis.

Barbara was working at the hospital and Bud was working at the Pharmacy when they met on her many trips downstairs to get a Coke and Hershey bar. Barbara and Bud were married in Memphis in 1959 and eventually moved to Clinton, Mississippi with their two girls in 1975. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clinton for many years and taught Sunday school to 7th grade girls. She was also active in many social clubs around town.

Nana, as she was affectionately known as to her family, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, watching Guiding Light , cross stitching, and taking care of Bud.

A funeral is scheduled for Friday, August 26, 2022 at 2:00 pm with a visitation starting at 1:00 pm. It will be held at Wright and Ferguson in Clinton, Mississippi.
