Barbara Ann Kron Holmes

On Tuesday, October 30, 2018, Barbara Holmes, passed away at the age of 84.

Born September 20, 1934 in Jackson, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Wiley Henry Kron and Annie Mae (Windom) Kron. Barbara graduated from Jackson Central High School and went on to graduate from Bob Jones University.

Barbara worked many jobs throughout her life. She worked for the Welfare Department, the Baptist Children's Village and the Methodist Children's Home as a case worker. Later she worked at First Baptist Church Jackson and Jackson Public Schools as an administrative assistant. She retired from the University of Mississippi Medical Center where she was and administrative assistant in the School of Health-Related Professions.

Barbara was a long-time member of Midway Baptist church where she served as pianist and organist. She also worked in the nursery until the time that Midway had its last service.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Gardner "Country" Holmes. She is survived by her daughter Stacy Holmes King, son in law Stephen H. King, and her grandsons Wiley H. King and T. Hunter King.

Memorial services is scheduled for Friday, November 2, 2018 at Wright and Ferguson in Clinton, Mississippi. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:30 with chapel service starting at 1:30. Graveside service will follow at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery in Jackson, Mississippi.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
