Obituary

Arthur Moreland Tyer AKA: Pete, Pop, Uncle Pete, and Mr. Pete, a Pearl Harbor survivor went home to God in Heaven on April 20, 2017.
Funeral service for Arthur M. (Pete) Tyer, Sr. will be at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS on Saturday May 6, 2017 at 11AM with Mitchell Hedgepeth officiating. Visitation will be from 9AM to 11AM prior to the Service.
Born Nov. 11, 1940 to Aaron Warner Tyer & Helen Roth Feltus in Tripler General Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was preceded in death by both parents & his only sibling, a brother, Joseph Warner Tyer.
Pete is survived by his wife Jacqueline Huber Tyer with whom he traveled hand in hand through 57 1/2 years of marriage producing two fine sons who gave them "two full grown daughters": Arthur M. (Pete) Tyer, Jr. & his wife Linda, Major Jack A. Tyer TN National Guard & his wife Deidre. One grandson 2nd Lt. Jacob A. Tyer US Army & his wife Katelyn. A sister-in- law Anna Huber White & her husband Loyal. A brother-in-law David Huber & his wife Suzy.
He is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews from the Huber, Falkenheiner, Von Gonten, & White families as well as Godchildren from the Irby, Kittrell, & Kitsos families.
Pete graduated from Natchez High School in 1957 after which he spent a semester at the Citadel before deciding that the field of mechanics would be a more satisfying occupation. He received his training at the General Motors Training Center in New Orleans, LA & worked for Byars- McPhail Oldsmobile & Bluff City Motors in Natchez, MS before he became the Service Manager at Brumfield Motor Co. in Amite, LA. He later worked for Bubba Oustalet Ford in Gulfport, MS & East Ford in Jackson, MS.
In May 1974 he opened Tyer's Professional Auto Service in Clinton, MS where he, his wife, Jackie & his son, Pete, Jr. have enjoyed making friends, serving customers, telling jokes, exchanging ideas, rebuilding cars, repairing vehicles & in general keeping up with the automotive world!
