Annie Bell Sykes, 81, passed away on December 7, 2023 in Jackson, MS. Visitation for Bell will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A Service will be held at Parkway Church on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 1:00pm with visitation starting at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Flora Cemetery.

Bell was born on March 9, 1942 to Andrew and Annie Lou Peden. Bell will always be remembered for her big heart and her giving spirit. She was always focused on the needs of those around her, constantly thinking of others before herself. You never left her presence without knowing you are loved. Bell loved bowling, bird watching and spending time with her grandchildren. She was more than just a wife, a mother and a grandmother, she was the rock of the family. Her memory will live on through us forever.

Bell was preceded in death by her parents Andrew David Peden and Annie Lou Easterling Peden; daughter Melanie Ann Sykes Cook; brother W.D. Peden, Ricky Peden and Alvin Lee Peden and sister Mary Bell Welch.

She is survived by the love of her life and Husband for 62 years Oscar Calvin Sykes of Flora, MS; Son Russell Sykes (Cindy); son-in-law Ronnie Cook Sr.; grandchildren Jennifer O'Neal Prince (Daniel) of Madison, MS, Ashley Cook Fuqua (Scott) of Jena, LA, Ronnie Cook Jr. (Brittany) of Clinton, MS, Kacy Fuller (Chris) of Jayess, MS, Josh Davis (Angie) of Ruth, MS and Lacy Gunnell (Josh) of Jayess, MS; 10 great grandchildren; sisters Virginia ray dune of Bentonia, MS, Betty Peden Howell (Roger) of Flora, MS; brother Miles Nelson Peden (Joyce) of Flora, MS and her dog Buddy who she loved very much.
