Mrs. Annie Laura Browning, age 91, of Clinton, passed away Friday afternoon, November 7, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on August 17, 1934, in Philadelphia, MS, a daughter of Robert and Ethel Burt.

Annie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Basil Leon Browning.

She is survived by son Barry Browning of Clinton, son Randy Browning and wife Christi Browning of Jackson, granddaughter Anna Grace Wilson and husband Thomas Wilson of Clinton, granddaughter Abigail Reid and husband Dylan Reid of Oxford, and sister Walterene McKay of Madison.

To know Annie was to be loved by Annie. In her quiet way, she exemplified what it meant to show Christ's love to others. She and her husband Leon moved to Clinton in 1974 and became active members of Morrison Heights Baptist Church.

She loved cooking, often hosting her children and granddaughters for Sunday lunch after church. From baking the perfect sugar cookies to somehow bringing three different cakes to each holiday dinner, Annie's love was always sweet.

Annie's faith drove her life, leading her in how she cared for those around her. She often said, "The Lord has always taken care of us." Her quiet strength in hard times was a consistent encouragement to those around her. Her family knew they could always count on her prayers.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7

Services will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS. Visitation will be at 12:00 p.m., followed by a service at 2:00 p.m., and a graveside service at Parkway Memorial Cemetery, located at 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Morrison Heights Baptist Church, 3000 Hampstead Way, Clinton, MS.
