Annette Taylor Thomas, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 21, 2023.
Annette was born on April 12, 1949, in Corinth, MS, to the late Alonzo Huggins and Betty Bowen Taylor. She was a graduate of The University of Mississippi, where she was a member and loyal alumna of Delta Gamma sorority. She continued her education, receiving her Master's Degree from Mississippi College. She went on to a career in education, teaching, and mentoring thousands of students in Clinton and other local school districts. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Clinton, MS, as well as an avid supporter of breast cancer awareness and member of Bosom Buddies of Clinton support group.
She loved spending time with her family and attending countless ball games while cheering on her sons and grandkids. Wherever she was, Annette loved meeting new people, never meeting a stranger. Annette enjoyed outdoor activities with her friends and family including gardening, biking, and trips to Pickwick.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Collin Parker Counce.
She is survived by Larry Thomas her loving husband of 53 years; two sons, Matt Thomas (Amanda) of Clinton, MS, Neal Thomas (Jerrie Ann) of Madison, MS; five grandchildren, Nathan, Hayden, Case, Elise, and Ella; siblings, Lon Taylor (Teresa), Kim Smith (Scott), Carole Counce (Mike), Gayle Webster (Ruston), and dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Celebration of her life will be Monday, April 24, at 4:00 PM, at First United Methodist Church in Clinton, MS. Visitation will precede the service from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 AM on April 25, at Henry Cemetery in Corinth, MS.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bosom Buddies of Clinton, 216 Concord Drive, Clinton, MS 39056 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, stjude.org.
