Dorothy Annette Lambert Sligh, 57, died Thursday, February 5, 2015 at her home in Vicksburg. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM all at Wright and Ferguson in Clinton. Burial will be in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
Annette was born June 19, 1957 in Selma, AL. She received her associated degree in Nursing from Southern Union Community College in Opelika, AL. She was an ordained minister and had worked as a registered nurse for over 25 years in Opelika, Montgomery, Jackson and Vicksburg. She was also the lead singer in the gospel group The Gospelettes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William D. Rhodes and Clara (Joe) McCormick and her previous husband David Lambert. Her survivors included, her husband Thomas Sligh of Vicksburg; her stepmother, Bobbie Rhodes of Brandon; her children; Susanne (John) Coleman of Opelika, AL; Cynthia Lee (PJ) Nichols of Opelika, AL; and William M. (Amber) Farmer of Brandon; She had 9 grandchildren; a sister, Cynthia (Michael) Jones of Boyertown, PA; two brothers, Joe (Angela) McCormick of Auburn, AL and Scott McCormick of Opelika, AL; as well as a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
The family would prefer memorial contributions to the Samaritan's Purse, Word of Life Church, Flowood, MS or the charity of your choice.
