Ann Marie Sassone Loveless, 88, of Clinton, Mississippi, passed away on March 30, 2026. Known for her infectious warm humor and a heart as sweet as her famous pralines, Ann Marie lived a life defined by devotion to her family, her faith, and her many friends.
Ann Marie was born on February 18, 1938, in Galveston, Texas, to Anthony R. Sassone and Maude C. Varnado, Ann Marie's journey took her across the Gulf South. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi where she was a member of the Tri Sigma Sorority. Ann Marie began her career as a Physical Education teacher in Gulfport, MS, where she shared her love for activity and sports with her students.
In 1963, she married the love of her life, Bill B. Loveless. Together, they shared 52 years of deep happiness, building a life together in Gulfport, Gautier, West Monroe, LA, New Orleans, LA, Birmingham, AL and Baton Rouge, LA before eventually settling in Clinton.
Ann Marie was a woman of many talents and joys. A lifelong lover of golf and a true fan of Mardi Gras, she brought a sense of celebration to everything she did. She was perhaps most famous among her friends for her special homemade pralines; a treat she took great joy in sharing. Her warm humor and ability to make others laugh made her a beloved figure in every city she called home.
Ann Marie's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a long-time, active member of Alta Woods Baptist Church in Jackson, where she was known for her welcoming spirit and deep commitment to her church family.
Ann Marie was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Bill B. Loveless, and her beloved son, Michael B. Loveless.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Leianne Loveless, and her sisters-in-law, Lynn Loveless Hill and Dianne Loveless Record, along with a host of friends who became like family over the years.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton with visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m. before the service.
