Amy Kristina Crocker Parker, of Pearl, MS, beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister, died suddenly at the age of 40 on Sunday, August 19,2018 in Clinton, Mississippi.
On June 23, 2001, she was joined in Holy Matrimony with the love of her life Edward Shawn Parker at St. Columb's Episcopal Church, Ridgeland, Mississippi, with The Rev. Janet Sanderson Ott, officiating.
Born in Jackson, Mississippi on December 27, 1977, she was the cherished daughter of Bonnie Gober Crocker and the late William Vivan "Bill" Crocker. Amy had been a communicant of St. Columb's Episcopal Church, Jackson, Mississippi, since November of 1979 and was baptized into the faith on Holy Saturday of Easter Week 1980 by The Rev. Osborne C. Moyer. In the seventh grade, after study and counsel by The Rev. Lowell Grisham, Amy was confirmed at St. Columb's by The Rev. Alfred C. "Chip" Marble, 8th Bishop of the Diocese of Mississippi. She was a member of the EYC and served as an Acolyte. She was a former member of the St. Columb's choir and a Sunday School teacher. Beginning in 1980, she annually helped her mother and siblings choose and decorate the Chrismon Tree for Midnight Mass at St. Columb's and later was joined by Shawn and their children in the family tradition.
Amy attended Southside Christian Academy in Jackson and was a 1996 graduate of Pearl High School where she was a member of the Pearl Singers and the Pearl Chamber Singers. She was a proud clarinet-playing member of the Pearl Pirate Band from seventh grade through high school graduation. Under the tutelage of the Hon. Mitch Childre, Mayor of Pearl, MS, Amy was appointed and served on the Pearl Mayor's Youth Council.
Amy attended Hinds Community College, and later graduated at the head of her class in Surgical Technology from Hinds Nursing/Allied Health Center, Jackson Campus. She assisted in surgery at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center and later at Woman's Hospital Flowood in obstetrics and gynecology.
She was preceded in death by her father William Vivan "Bill" Crocker in 1979; paternal grandparents William Robert "Bunch" Crocker and Frances Cornelia Russell Crocker of Neshoba County, Mississippi; her maternal grandparents William Noonan Gober and Raney Lee Belle Curtis Gober McAnally of Hardin County, Tennessee and Tishomingo County, Mississippi.
She is survived by her husband Edward Shawn Parker, son William Brady Parker, daughter
Presley Elisabeth Parker; mother Bonnie Gober Crocker of Pearl; sisters Tammy Lewis Vaughan of Pearl and Robin Lewis McDaniel of Olive Branch; and, brother Lt. Col (retired) Kevin Andrew Lewis of McKinney, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the 1:00 pm service at St. Columb's Episcopal Church, 550 Sunnybrook Road, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
