Amanda Gwen Culipher, age 63, died peacefully at her home in Canton, MS, on Saturday, January 25, after a 5-year battle with cancer.

Amanda was born on June 22, 1956 in Bolton, MS, where she was raised in a close community of family and friends. After graduating from Central Hinds Academy in 1974 and then attending Hinds Community College, Amanda built her life in the Jackson, MS area primarily working as an analyst and office manager in the medical field. Throughout her life, Amanda was known for her fun-loving spirit; her company was always enjoyed by those around her. The beach was a special place for Amanda, so much so, that she chose to live in Pensacola, FL for six years later in life. Above all else, however, Amanda loved her family, and especially her son, Johnathan, great-nephew, Jonah, and great-niece Savannah. Amanda was loved by all who knew her, and will be deeply missed.

Amanda is survived by her partner and companion, Mike Goode, her mother, Gwendolyn Culipher, her sister, Lauren Allen, her niece, Angie Roth, her great-niece and great-nephew, Savannah and Jonah Roth, and her cousins, Paul Cox, Susan Phillips, and Amelia Gracia. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lowrey and May Cox and Dallas and Lena Mae Culipher, her father, Wallace Culipher, her son, Johnathan Johnson, and her cousins, Michael Cox and Robbie Smylie.

Visitation is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on January 28 at Memorial United Methodist Church in Bolton, MS. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m.
