Obituary

Allie Carlee Berry passed away on February 12 after a 2-year battle with Dementia. She touched many lives with her kindness and loving spirit.

Carlee was born in Yazoo City MS to Ouida and Jesse James Gutherie.  She had two sisters that preceded her in death Dean Davis and Claudia Saxton.  After graduating from Yazoo High School, she married shortly after to Drewey Brown Berry and started working for Bellsouth and AT&T till she retired and spent the remainder of her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Carlee and Drewey Berry resided in Clinton, MS for the better part 50 years and enjoyed socializing with their friends and neighbors as members of their community and church.  She was a member of Pocahontas Baptist church.  She was playful, quick to laugh and had a serving nature about her.  She always would offer her advice of "we need to pray about it and trust the lord's direction in the matter."

Carlee was married to Drewey Berry, who preceded her in marriage of 63 years, she is survived by her loving children Tricia Donahoe (Mark) of Clinton, MS and James Berry (Jamie) of Brandon, MS.  She is also survived by her brother Jesse (Juanita) Gutherie of Benton, MS, also stepdaughter Gail Needham.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Blake, Lauren, Alicia, Kyle, Michael, John Austin, and Amanda.  Along with several nephews, nieces, great grandchildren, and 2 grand sons-in-law.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Gwen Porter, Dee Green and Teresa Payne who were caregivers to Ms. Berry during most difficult times.
